**Ok here's a chapter, I'm hoping to try to write more if I can, depends on how busy I am with next weeks exams.**
I moved into a new place after my father was taken for trial and then imprisoned for the death of Jadon. My new family was a very kind family that cared immensely for me. My foster family, originally a turkish family, was a very caring and hardworking family. They did everything in their hands to make sure I was the happiest kid on the face of the earth.
Aleve and Emin were a kind and caring pair. They weren’t very social and kept mostly to their small group of friends. Originally of Turkish descent, Aleve was able to speak fluent Turkish, while Emin, who was also a descendant from Turkey, barely knew anything about Turkey and the culture there. Although both of their names indicated they were Turkish, they both were greatly influenced by their upbringing in the United States.
Aleve and Emin considered themselves Muslims, but never went into depth to find out much about the religion. They knew that they shouldn’t eat pork and drink alcohol, but other than that they were just as the other American people out there. They didn’t know much about prayer and they didn’t seem bothered without it.
Christian came to live in Aleve and Emin’s house as they wanted a child they could take as their own. They had a suitable room ready, and they were ready to help him with anything he needed.
As they went to pick Christian up and bring him home they were exceedingly excited and decided to stop by an icecream shop on the way home.
As they arrived to pick Christian up..
“Hi, I’m Aleve and here’s Emin, and you’re Christian, right?”
Chris was quite taken aback by Aleve’s outgoing personality, he stood there in shock, almost unable to speak.
“Well, umm,” He stuttered, “You can call me Chris, I guess...” His voice trailed off, still slightly shy.
“Got all your stuff lil’ buddy?” Emin asked..
“Well here’s everything I’ve got,” Chris said, handing Emin a backpack with all the personal belonging he thought were necessary for his survival.
“You sure, kiddo? Just one backpack?”
“Yeah, its all my important stuff,” Chris wondered why Emin was so surprised. His PSP, 2 changes of clothes, his Ipod, the games he got for Christmas, his tooth brush, and some of his favorite books were all that he will ever need...Or so he thought when he was told to pack his stuff.
“Hop in then and we’ll be right on our way,” Emin said as he looked around for Aleve who he knew would take care of all the paperwork necessary.
Soon enough they were on the road, going right over to The Cold Stone Creamery, the place that had the best(est) icecream in town.
“So let’s start with the important questions, shall we?” Aleve began.
“Okaaaay....” Chris tried to act as if he was within his own family, yet his voice still didn’t turn out the way he wanted it to.
“What’s your favorite icecream flavor?” Aleve said, smiling and turning around in her seat to face Chris who was sitting in the backseat.
Chris chuckled, surprised by the question, since he prepared himself to be interrogated.
“Well, I guess I’d have to say Cookie Dough icecream is the best one out there.”
“Really? Well mine is Mint Chocolate Chip cuz it’s the best thing ever invented.” She smiled as she turned back to looking out the front window.
“What’s your favorite flavor Emin?” Chris asked, now curious.
“Well, you guess...”
“Umm Chocolate?”
“Nope”
“Vanilla?”
“Nu-uh”
“C’mon I give up, tell me” Chris found it easy to get along with these people and became comfortable in their presence very quickly.
Aleve turned around in her seat and faced Chris and indicated for him to come closer so she could tell him a secret.
“It’s cookie dough, too!” She whispered in his ear.
“Noooo!!” He smiled in surprise. “Really?”
Soon enough they were joking and laughing and Chris was having the best time in his life. He never felt so easy in such a long time that he’d forgotten what feeling good felt like. Then he remembered Jadon and how he was missing out on such an awesome experience and a sad smile appeared on his face. He still regretted that he didn’t leave that night.

Chapter 7
Chris stood in the kitchen putting cherry tomatoes in small plastic lunch bags, thinking to himself. He then remembered that he had to wake everyone up this morning. It was a new tradition, since his mother got sick and left. They took turns making lunch and waking each other up. Usually these turns went from Chris to Samuel, but occasionally Jadon got his turn. Jadon was now 9, Chris 12. This made things easier since they were both old enough to semi-understand their situation.
One night, Dad came home very angry. He looked beaten and terrible and was completely infuriated...
Samuel returned home completely drunk and used up. Although this wasn’t a usual habit, Samuel began drinking almost nightly since that day. This caused him to lose control of his temper, which became dangerous when he was around Jadon and Chris.
Chris being older and more understanding would tell Jadon to go to his room before they got in trouble with their father.
That night I was stupid, I wasn’t one bit lucky...
Chris left to spend the night at his friend’s, still being a child, he took the chance to enjoy himself.
All I remember was that I went over to my friend’s house. This was a friend I had known ever since childhood and his mom was my mom’s close friend. When I came back home....“Jadon!!! Jadon!!!” Chris stared at his brother in surprise...
“JADON!!” Chris was now yelling, grabbing his brother from the front of his shirt....
Jadon didn’t respond, he simply lay on the ground lifelessly. The bloodstains and bruises all over his body marked every injury inflicted. Almost every single body part of his had one affliction or another. If a person didn’t know Jadon very well they wouldn’t have noticed him. He was almost completely mutilated.
I was never to live life the same again... I vowed to never talk to my father after that. I felt like the whole world was against me, mom never called and soon I was sent to live in a foster home...
Mary looked through the newspaper as she lay in bed. Headlines said, “Drunk father abuses son to death.” She skimmed through the article thinking how common these things happened these days, when suddenly...
“Samuel Spencer was taken to jail after abusing his younger son, Jadon. After coming home from a friend’s house early on Saturday morning, Christian Spencer, 12, found his younger brother laying limp on the floor. He immediately called 911 hoping to save his brother, but sadly...”
Mary quickly looked up to the top of the newspaper and looked at the picture of Jadon. He had changed so much since she has left that she barely recognized him. He was smiling happily in the photo they chose to put on the newspaper. Mary wiped the tears that were running down her face uncontrollably. She slowly got out of bed and walked out of her room into the living room. She found her mother sitting on the couch in tears, after reading what had happened.
I remember the dimples that used to appear on his face when he smiled, he could be the most annoying bro in the world, but he always showed immense concern when he saw that you were hurt or felt down. He always brought me a cup of water or juice when I was watching TV with him. He absolutely loved popcorn and Slurpee's from 7-11. Those would pass for his two favorite foods if pizza didn’t exist.
I remember the day of the funeral, I was the only person from Jadon’s immediate family there. Everyone constantly reminded me that my single best friend at home is gone. I never thought that he’d leave....leave me alone... We always fought the world together. I betrayed him by not staying there that night. If only I could’ve saved his life, I wouldn’t have been in so much regret. But thanks to God, I have been able to overcome that slowly... I’ve been able to move on, to keep going with life. To know that it isn’t all my fault. To understand that....That it’s …. Fate..

Chapter 6
Sorry it's short, but inshallah there will be more out tomorrow. :D Enjoy and sorry it took so long.
Life was hard for us at that time...Dad was filled with depression and we spent our time doing many things kids didn’t do, like cooking and cleaning.Soon enough Mary had to stop working, and with this she felt that she needed to leave the house, to loosen the burden on Samuel. So soon enough...
Mom one day took me into her room and told me, “Chris, I’m really sick, so I’ll be leaving, once I get better, I’ll come back here and we’ll be together again.” Next I knew, she was gone.Christian stood there in complete shock. How could a 10 year old accept the fact that his mom was just walking out the door right in front of him. “Be strong, Chris,” echoed in his head.
“Mom..........” He tried saying, but nothing came out.
“Mom, come back.....”
Christian grabbed the phone on the kitchen counter, and dialed Samuel’s number, but no one was answering. Christian’s mind was racing, wake up Jadon? Or just wait till Samuel came back? Chris just sat on the couch and switched on the TV.
“....yellow and porous is he.
Sponge Bob Square Pants!
If nautical nonsense be somethin' ya wish.
Sponge Bob Square Pants!
Then drop on the deck and flop like a fish.
Sponge Bob Square Pants!”
Soon, after Spongebob was over, Chris fell asleep on the couch...
“CHRIS!! CHRIS!!” Yelled Samuel.
“Chris! Where’s your mom?” Chris was shot back to reality.
“Umm, mom?....” A lump developed in his throat...
“She …..said...” He couldn’t hold it in anymore, he was now sobbing.
Samuel stood there wide eyed at his son crying on the couch, what could have possibly happened? Where in the world did she go?
Suddenly....The telephone rang.
“Mary?” Samuel answered.
Samuel bit his lip, why would she call now?
“Oh I’m sorry,” he explained, “I just was waiting for a call from errr, someone else, Thanks and bye.” He didn’t care what the other person had to say, he wanted to know where in the world Mary went....

Chapter 5
Chapter 5:
Age 10
Although Mary was diagnosed with leukemia, she still worked to help sustain the family. She quit her morning job and worked on something that didn’t require her to be in the office everyday. She started chemotherapy and when she remained in the hospital for treatment, she’d take her Macbook with her and do her work.
“Hi, Mom, look what we brought you!” Jadon and Christian said in unison.
“Oh, hi kiddos!” Her face lit up at the sight of her two little munchkins. She could never leave these two in the world alone. She’d fight for her life to stay alive for them.
“Mom? When are you gonna come home again?” Asked Jadon. He wished Mary would come home, since it was never the same when she kept leaving for chemotherapy treatments in the hospital.
“It’s all right Jade, I’ll be home soon, make sure dad helps you with your homework,k?” She was always the one to help them out, but it was hard to do that when visits were barely allowed in the hospital, especially for kids.
We went and visited her everyday when she’d go for treatment, and when she was at home, we tried to be extra helpful so that she’d get better faster. Oh how naive we were as kids, thinking she’d get better sooner.Chris was now old enough to help make some kind of sustaining food since he was 10 years old now. He got out the box of Mac’ n Cheese and read the directions. After he finished cooking it up, he put bowls on the table for everyone and told them to come and eat.
“Yumm!” Mary said, “Mac’ n Cheese never tasted better, thanks Chris.”
“It’s all right mom, I just want you to get better,” Chris smiled, praising himself for his good work.
“Chris, can you gimme some more?” Jadon said, waving his bowl around hoping for more.
“All righty, man, but after this we gotta agree to let Mom rest more, K?” Chris tried to keep Jadon’s loud voice and personality toned down for his mother’s comfort.
Jadon didn’t really know Samuel’s harsh side. Whenever Jadon did anything Chris always took the blame, he wanted Jadon to see Samuel as a loving and caring father, so most of the time, Chris got in trouble. This caused Jadon to become a bit more spoilt and loud. He got what he wanted and never got punished for his mess ups. Chris willingly took the beatings, because he knew that Jadon would be ruined forever if he ever got beaten.
Jadon never saw dad beat me, never knew he did. I loved Jadon too much and to see him get hit, that would just hurt me. It would just kill me. I was older. I knew the beatings and could handle them.
Those days Dad was out of the house alot. He would take us to visit Mom in the hospital, but more than that he’d be out, except on weekends, which were usually spent at the hospital. I’d get the beatings for the messes in the car, or something getting spilled on the floor, when I got home.
Jadon was now 7 years old and was a very good friend to Chris. They hardly fought over stuff and they spent alot of time playing games, or shooting hoops in the front yard. They’d go to the park together with the neighbor and she’d always watch them until they were done, then she’d take them home.

Chapter 4
Age 8
When I was 8 years old, I heard something that should have never entered my mind, something that no normal child could endure, or maybe even understand. I was walking up the stairs one night from the basement, where the playroom and TV were. I wanted to get a cup of water, after all that fun on the Wii Fit I needed a drink. I was a few stairs away from the top and the door to the house was slightly open.
Samuel and Mary sat at the dinner table talking about various topics when Mary slowly looked down at her food. She pushed it around like a kid would when playing with food they don’t want to eat.
“Samuel,” she said slowly, hoping he didn’t hear her.
“Honey? Is there something wrong,” anyone would know from Mary’s tone that something was wrong.
“It’s nothing Samuel, nothing...” her voice trailed off even though she tried to sound upbeat.
Samuel got up out of his chair, took his plate to the sink and brought back a cup of water. He took the seat next to Mary and sat down. He looked straight at her, looked at her straight in the eyes.
“Spill it, spill it all,” he said.
“Samuel...” she was holding back tears.
“The results, they were...” she was almost sobbing now, “they came back.”
At this point, I was still clueless, I knew nothing about results, doctor appointments that meant bad news, or anything of that sort.“What is it, Mary?”
She shook her head as if to indicate negative. Samuel’s jaw almost fell on the floor from intensity the news.
‘How? It’s impossible? No! It can’t be.’
Samuel looked at Mary for support, but she was sobbing uncontrollably. He got up instantly, put the cup in the sink and opened the partially open door.
Dad saw me sitting there on the stairs, at that point his mood fluctuated in so many different ways, I was lost.
“Chris! What are you doing here?!” He shouted
“Umm, sorry, Dad.” Chris was afraid from Samuel’s wrath.
“It’s alright, son.” His face transformed from red and angry, to one almost like a little pleading kid.
Samuel noticed Jadon sitting a few steps down from Chris. It was amazing how well those two got along, Samuel thought. They were the best friends who were siblings.
Dad picked Jadon up, even though Jadon was now almost 5 and a half, and took him into Jadon and my room. I ran into the room and me, Jadon and dad wrestled for a while. I remember the whole time dad was laughing, but tears were flowing down onto his cheeks the whole time.“Dad, look at you cwying,” Jadon said, in his baby talk filled accent.
“Shut up, Jadon!” Said Chris.
“Chris, remember what we said about bad words?” Samuel said, wiping tears from his eyes.
“Sorry, Dad.”
I just hoped everything would be all right after that. Things that I didn’t understand didn’t bother me back then, I just left everything to my parents, who were always the heros at making life right.Wednesday, December 29, 2010
It was one of the happiest days of my life, I loved every tiny detail about it. I loved that my family and friends were together, I loved that everyone was happy, and most of all my father was making my day extra special. I couldn’t even believe the surprises that day.
“Happy birthday toooo you...” the family sang in unison.
“Blow out the candles, sweety,” Mary beamed, she couldn’t believe it, her son was turning 7 today.
“Okay mom,” said Chris as he blew out the candles.
Chris was extremely happy he was wearing a black suit, a white shirt, and a red tie. He was so happy, his face was so lit up and his heart was so content. He thought that he was the happiest boy ever.
He ran over to the pile of gifts and sat on the floor next to them. He took the one at the bottom and all the others toppled over on top of him. He giggled happily and began to open the present.
“Mommy, what is it? What is it mommy?” he happily said as he tried to open the gift.
He smiled as he saw the corner of the Hot Wheels race pack. As he ripped the wrapping paper open, the pieces flew into the air, then fell down to the ground slowly.
He opened the box in less than a minute and was on the floor putting the parts together and avoiding Jadon’s little meddling hands, when he remembered the other gifts.
That day he went through all the gifts from friends and family, he spent time on his new Nintendo DSi and his Hot Wheels. He played on his Wii and his PS3 games that he got.
“Mom, dad, I love you,” he said that night as his mother tucked him into bed.
They smiled at him and left the room. Too excited to sleep, Chris got up moments later. He went to the kitchen, got a cup of water, and then tried to make himself a sandwich. He ate his peanut butter and jelly sandwich and went back to sleep, smiling.
Author's Note: Been busy, therefore lack of posts. I'll hopefully make up for it this weekend inshallah. Sorry.

Chapter 2
Age 6
Mom sent me to school after the incident with my dad, so I didn’t really have many problems with him. Until summer vacation came around, and mom still worked. By that time I had gotten a little brother and dad took care of both of us. We were all fine and we got along happily throughout that summer we hardly got punished and dad kept his cool most of the time.
Or at least I thought.
A few days before it was time to go back to school, mom and dad agreed to go school supply shopping. We walked all around Target looking at all the choices and then Mom chose the ones suitable for me, and I was as happy as can be.
We got home...
Mary went to work the next day and Chris and Jadon stayed at home with Samuel. As Samuel and Jadon were asleep in the bedroom, Chris got up early and decided to play with his new ‘toys’. He got out his notebooks, pencils, erasers, and color pencils and begin to draw.
He drew on the cover of the notebook, then on the back, on the first page, then he went on and on to keep enjoying the coloring.
Jadon stirred in his sleep, he turned around, then he got up and crawled to the edge of the crib, grabbed on to the bars, and started to stand up. One of his little baby hands let go and slipped off the edge of the crib, causing Jadon to fall back. He burst into tears, more scared than injured and kept crying until Samuel lazily got out of bed grabbed him quickly and forcefully.
“JADON! SHUT UP!”
This caused Jadon to cry even more. This is when Samuel realized his mistake.
“Jadon, it’s ok”
He patted Jadon on the back and tried to calm him. Soon enough Jadon was quiet, and Samuel decided to check on Chris. As soon as he saw Chris, his blood started boiling and he was about to burst if it wasn’t for the baby in his arms.
“CHRIS! ARE YOU CRAZY, YOU ARE THE STUPIDEST BEING I’VE MET!!!”
Chris ran to his room instantaneously in fear, he didn’t want the slaps he got last time. But if that is what Chris was afraid of, I would probably say he was pretty safe, for he didn't know that...
“How do you DARE run away from me when I'm talking to you!”
“No daddy...no! Please daddy!” Chris's accent was now devoid of baby talk and he learned to toughen up a bit from last time's occurrence.
”Dad please”, he pleaded now hoping that maybe his father's heart would soften up a bit.
Whip! Whip! Whip!
“That shall teach you for next time and that way I won't have to deal with a son that runs away when I try to talk,” Samuel said as he stomped angrily back to his room.
Chris refused to cry after being hit with the belt, he had to learn to be strong, and handle things that came his way; but tears came down inevitably, not because it hurt him physically, but because he was hurt by his father, who he loved and admired.
Later on that day, before Samuel headed off to work, Chris ran up to him, and hugged him.
“Love you daddy,” he beamed.
“Love you too, son.” He walked out the door feeling bad for his previous mistake secretly vowing to himself that he wouldn't let his temper control him again. He loved Chris and Jadon dearly and couldn't handle seeing them ever being hurt by anyone, let alone himself.
He looked up at the window as he left and saw Mary, Chris, and Jadon watching him leave from the window. He smiled to himself.
'I love my family,' he thought to himself, 'and no one has the right to wreck it.'
He waved back and drove away.
At that point I didn't understand why he could lose his temper so quickly, but no matter whatever he did I could never bring myself to hate him. I always looked up to him and tried my best to please him.

Chapter 1
Age:5
Christian sat in the corner of the room crying. He accidentally dropped the box of cereal when he was trying to put it in the cupboard, he was too short to reach the cupboard and incidentally the box fell onto the ground. The small pieces of Trix cereal bounces softly onto the tiles of the kitchen floor. Instantly , Samuel, Christian’s father, slammed open the door of his bedroom. He ran to the kitchen to see what the noise came from. Christian silently an fearfully tried to gather the pieces of Trix that lay spread all over the floor.
“Christian!” Samuel boomed.
Christian stood there in fear, his little heart beating very quickly. His slightly long, wavy, jet black hair was slightly disheveled and his little green eyes were filled with tears. He was a slightly chubby child and people always commented on his cuteness; but now he looked even cuter (as if you’d want to grab and hug him this moment) as he stood there, in fear. Any other person would melt away just by seeing his little helpless expression.
Slap!
“How could you do that, Chris, look at this mess!”
“I....I’m sowwy dad!” he sniffled, still having that little baby accent in his words. He looked at his father in fear and just hoped his mother was there to save him.
******************************************************
Mary decided to work this month since the family needed the extra income, and since Samuel’s shift and her shift at work didn’t overlap, there was always someone at home to be with Christian. She started her work the week before and everything seemed well, so she decided to continue. With her new job, Mary was away everyday of the week from 6am until 1pm. Then Samuel left, and worked until 10pm. At ten they would all eat dinner together and then head off to bed.
******************************************************
“Christian!” he boomed again.
“Sowwy....S...S..sowwy daddy.” Chris said, wondering why this time his daddy was more mad at him that usual.
Samuel’s voice was loud, strong, and slightly rhaspy. His voice was naturally loud and when he yelled, his voice boomed and filled the room completely. His face showed complete anger, it was red and when that redness contrasted with his sun-lightened, blond hair, he looked like a monster to Chris.
Slap!
“Go to your room Chris, and if I see you before dinner, I’ll hit you with this!” he said loudly, ad he held a broomstick in his hand.
As Chris walked to his room, he felt the burning sensation on his face from the second slap, which was harder than the first. He put his tiny, chubby, little right hand on his cheek and ran around to his room. He then sat in his closet, surrounded by his toys, and hugged his stuffed Shaun the Sheep as he little tears ran down his face.
And that was the first time I got hit, and the first time I wasn’t allowed to eat until mom came home. I sat in my room that day until mom came to find me. She understood what had happened once she saw the Trix, the dried tears, and the mark from the slap still on my face...
Mary sat in front of the closet and asked,
“What happened, Chris?”
“Mommy the box of ceweal feww down.”
“But, your face..”
Chris remembered and began to cry, his pure, childly innocence didn’t allow him to understand why he got slapped, not once, but twice.
“D...D...Daddy,” he was sobbing now, “H...he hit me and it hurt mommy. It hurt alot.”
Mom kissed my cheek, told me it was all right, then made me some food to eat. I don’t recall what happened when dinner time came around, so I guess by then dad had cooled off.
*Author's note: please tell me if you can understand this format of writing, It seems a bit confusing to me, but I wanted to try it out since my friend suggested it.*
Prologue
The bumps in the road of my life, the trouble’s I’ve faced all taught me lessons I wouldn’t have learned if these problems didn’t exist. Everyone’s life has its twists and turns, ups and downs, and some people have more of these turns, some people even go through loops of problems that never seem to end. My problems may be common in today’s world, but the lessons I’ve learned cannot be replaced.
My attempt at stories Again
Now I have the whole plot planned out and saved up, so this should go better than any other, inshallah.
